Whole School ‘Alleluia!’ Celebrations

Classrooms were ‘abuzz’ with Easter activities on the first day back for Term Two, last Wednesday. Thank you to the classroom teachers who prepared these activities and for the flexibility of all staff in accommodating the day’s activities and liturgy around specialist classes. As Holy Week and Easter were celebrated during the school holidays, this was our first opportunity to gather as a whole school community to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was wonderful to unite in song and story to mark this most important event in the Catholic Christian Liturgical Calendar. Thank you to the SJAT and several other Year Five and Six students for leading the Alleluia Liturgy last Wednesday, April 26th.Thank you also to the family members who also attended this celebration.

Confirmation for Year Six Students

Enrollments for The Sacrament of Confirmation are now open on Operoo and close on May 10th. Please respond as soon as possible by completing all sections of this enrollment or declining if you do not wish to enrol your child. Please see the information within the Operoo for further details, especially those regarding sponsors and pre-requisites for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Catholic Baptism

For families with children who have not received the Sacrament of Catholic Baptism and are considering this sacrament for their child/ren, please contact the Western Port Parish Centre on (03) 5979 4374. Should you make Baptism arrangements with the Parish, please inform me so that this special milestone for your child can be acknowledged within the school community. Please also forward a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate to the school so that this can be reflected in the school records.

Families who wish for their children to receive any sacrament or The Rite of Reception through the parish, have been requested by Fr Shymon to make timely arrangements, as adequate preparation is required. This is especially important when families wish to enroll in school sacramental preparation programs, such as First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.

In the story of Doubting Thomas, when Jesus rises from the dead, Thomas didn't believe the other Disciples had seen him. Thomas said, 'I won't believe you until I have stuck my hand through the holes in his hands and felt the wound on his side'. Jesus appeared to Thomas  and let him see his wounds, and Thomas then believed Jesus forever.

Jesus loves when we have faith!
