Year 5 / 6 Remote Learning

The students have made a seamless transition back into remote learning and continue to impress us as creative, resilient and responsible on line learners. This week we have been consumed with the Little Writer's Festival, an online festival aimed at stimulating children's writing. We have been part of an online community of 35,000 children from around the country.

The students have met some brilliant authors and been given many opportunities to explore the craft of writing. We look forward to posting some student work in later newsletters as a result of participation in this Festival. Thanks to Belinda Cheong for bringing it to our attention!

Darebin Yarning Conference

This year our Year 5 students will be involved in the Darebin Yarning Conference, to be held on 20th October. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the conference will be an online meet with 17 Darebin schools taking part. The theme of this year's conference, in line with NAIDOC 2020 theme, is 'ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE, ABORIGINAL LAND. This is the first time our school has been involved and, speaking to teachers from other schools who have taken part previously, are really excited to be a part of it! More details to follow.
