From The Principal

Dear Murrumbeena families,

Welcome back to a different Term 3!

We hope you had time over the school break to connect with friends and family, before the latest lockdown was on our doorstep.

Thank you to the ongoing support you have shown our staff, who again are doing their absolute best to ensure your children have the best possible outcomes for their education in these difficult times. Staff did a great job creating packs of materials for each year level, and we appreciate the effort made by everybody to pick up those packs. If anyone else needs a device to help with home learning, please contact the school office.

The school has responded to the overwhelming feedback from our last time in remote learning, by providing more live sessions with teachers online.

Whilst we know this may not suit all circumstances with all families caring for students, we do feel this is the best option for ensuring our students' learning stays on track and we can give focussed feedback to meet individual needs.

I am sure we can work together to support each other in these difficult times.

Please continue to stay in touch if difficulties arise. At the moment, we are moving towards having the minimum of staff onsite. There will, however, be staff available to answer the phones and supervise students in need of care.

School staff who are rostered on-site will still need to deliver their own classes online, so they are not there to teach a formal program.

We hope you all look after yourselves and your families during these times and remember we are all trying to do our best, staff , students and parents.

PREP ENROLMENTS 2021

Thank you to those parents who have enrolled their child for the 2021 Foundation (Prep) year. I encourage families, if they have a child starting school next year, to complete the enrolment process by contacting the school office. Term 3 is an important time in planning for next year. We start to really focus on staffing, grade structures and the allocation of resources for the following year. Please pass this message onto any parents outside of our school community, intending to enrol their child(ren) at Murrumbeena P.S. next year. Please see the flyer below for our next online tour on July 30.

If you know anyone moving into our area, or at a local kindergarten, who has a child attending your child’s pre-school and is considering their school enrolment options, please encourage them to complete the enrolment process as soon as possible. Please invite them to contact the school to organise a time to speak to me.

OUTDOOR PLAYSPACES

PROGRESS OVER THE SCHOOL BREAK

Work started on the construction of our new playground and there are improvements being made to improve the drainage and space around the junior sandpits. I anticipate this work will be completed within 4-6 weeks, weather permitting. I believe it will create a wonderful space for our students to develop their physical skills whilst they are on our play breaks.
