NAIDOC 2020
National Naidoc Week 2020 celebrations will be held from the 8th-15th November. The November dates follow the decision by the National NAIDOC Committee (NNC) to postpone NAIDOC Week from the original July dates due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across our communities and cities.
We will plan for our NAIDOC celebration for Term 4 as we expect that we will be allowed to have parents and friends attend school events by then.
Real Talk Student Seminars
We have been in touch with Nikki Lysaght from Real Talk Australia and we can now confirm that we will be taking all students from Years 4 to 6 to next week's Real Talk workshops in St Philomena's in Moree next week. Notes to relevant families have been sent home.
You can read all about Real Talk in last week's newsletter.
Catholic Schools Week
The theme of Catholic Schools Week 2020 is NURTURE, GROW, CELEBRATE.
It will take place in the second week of Term 3.
It will also be the launch of our
2021 Enrolment promotion.
Further details of how we will celebrate CSW
at St Joseph's Warialda will follow.
Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal
St Joseph’s Mini Vinnies will be supporting the Vinnies Winter Appeal by asking for donations of clothes and blankets. As is our tradition, our students will come to school wearing items of clothing to donate on Thursday July 2nd. They also ask each family to donate warm blankets or similar.
Fr Thaddeus shared this from this week's parish bulletin ...
May God bless you in the week ahead.
