The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre has now moved all their printed resources online. This enables them to keep up to date and provide direct links to essential information and downloadable interactive PDFs, including this new Guide to Researching Tertiary Education 2020. Please note that some of this material may refer to, and is designed for, VCE studies but much of the information is also relevant for IB students. If you need any help with this please feel free to contact me directly as I am very happy to assist you.

Year 12 Guide

If you're a current Year 12 student, this guide is designed to lead you through the process of researching tertiary education and applying for courses, special consideration (SEAS) and scholarships. The VTAC Guide to applying in 2020 for courses commencing in 2021 is available here. *It's important to note that I will be guiding you through this process with a presentation shortly.

SCHOLARSHIPS

UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE PRINCIPAL'S RECOMMENDATION SCHEME

The Melbourne Principals' Scholarship is an opportunity for students who are undertaking their final year of VCE or International Baccalaureate at a school in Victoria. WHERE ELSE TO FIND SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are offered by many different organisations. We suggest you search for scholarships here:

You should spend some time exploring all these opportunities and apply for any scholarships you think you might be eligible for as applications open.

SPECIAL ENTRY ACCESS SCHEMES (SEAS)

SEAS applications open 3 August (9am) and close 9 October (5pm)  for courses commencing in 2021. Plan your time! Depending on the category, a SEAS application can take several weeks to complete. This is because some categories require supporting evidence, such as financial evidence or a statement of support from someone who can verify your circumstances. You may be required to get evidence from a health practitioner. This evidence can take a while to collect. The application may also require you to provide your own description of circumstances and impact statement, which we recommend you make time to draft before submitting.
