Catholic Identity

Slow yourself down for a moment, and try to realise that God is present -
Here and now. God is present in what we do,
in the people that we meet, and the situations we find myself in daily.
Ask how am I within myself today?
Am I particularly tired, stressed, or off-form?
If any of these characteristics apply, can I try to let go of the concerns that disturb me
and hand them over to God?
Matt 13: 33-34 Jesus told the crowds another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.’ Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables.
Yeast is a powerful agent which can bring about change. A dense lump of dough, with the right amount of yeast and time, will become a well risen, light, loaf of bread. Jesus is saying that the Kingdom of heaven is like yeast which is added to flour. Only small amounts of yeast can make significant change. So too, can each and every one of us, bring about positive change in our world. We simply need to commit to becoming the best person we can be.
Asking the Holy Spirit to guide us each day is one way to help us.
Loving God,
May I use the gifts you have given me to bring about positive change in our world.
May I be slow to utter harsh, hurtful words, or words spoken in anger.
May I be quick to speak words of kindness, encouragement, affirmation and love. Amen.
