Our Indigenous Students

Mr Jones reports that after a challenging few months online back in community, it was very exciting to see our Huntingtower girls accommodated at the Michael Long Learning Centre in Darwin. We are very grateful to MITS for making places available for them at their Darwin Term 3 education hub, where they will be better equipped to engage with Huntingtower’s Continuous and Online Learning Program.

Middle School Chess Team

This year we are very grateful for the addition of about 10 quality Year 7 chess players to our Middle School Chess Team. They are very keen and will form a key part of our Middle School team as we make a bid to qualify for State Finals at this year’s EISM Chess Tournament on 21 August. It is also exciting to see how they are faring in our internal Huntingtower Term 3 online chess tournament. We will share the results at the end of term … so much to be grateful for!!!

Congratulations, Gillian Nix!

Art teacher Gillian Nix has beautifully illustrated 'Australia's Beating Heart: an anthology of traditional bush poetry', a recent publication by Australia Geographic.

Mrs Power is thrilled with the amazing digital artwork done at home by Year 8 students using their iPads. Students were asked to research the British Artist David Hockney and look at a series of his digital works for inspiration. They then created their dynamic and colourful Still Life artworks.
