Year 10 Students

Careers interviews with Year 10 students are well underway. Students have attended their interviews very well prepared and have been a joy to chat to, despite not being face-to-face. These interviews will continue until each Year 10 student has been interviewed by a member of the Careers team. Please note that with the very tight timeline, interviews that need to be rescheduled will spill over into the week of 3 August (the date that Web Preferences opens for the subject choice entry) but everyone will be interviewed before the close of Web Preferences on Friday 7 August. If students could be mindful of their interview time and try to attend their Zoom session that would be an enormous help. Note that it is not a question of “first in best dressed” with the Web Preferences system; students simply need to enter their subject choices by the end of the school day on Friday 7 August. Information about the Web Preferences process, and an individual password, will be emailed to all Year 10 students by Monday 3 August.

Year 11 and 12 Students

Year 11 students are able to consult with Careers staff in B21 about their subject choices for Year 12 in 2021 (recess or lunchtimes in between the Year 10 interviews) should they have any concerns or queries.

VTAC have now advised that Year 12 Results will be released at 7am on Wednesday 30 December 2020 and Change of Preference will close at midday on Monday 4 January 2021. Ms Gibbs and Mrs Borg are attending a VTAC Briefing for Careers Practitioners this week and will then have a lot more information and, hopefully, a better understanding of the process for the 2020 / 2021 Results and Selection period.

Please note the VTAC Information session is scheduled for Monday evening, 3 August at 7:30pm.  This is a “MUST ATTEND” evening (via Zoom) for Year 12 VCE students planning to apply to TAFE and University for 2021. Parents are also invited and are most welcome to attend.
