Hi Parents

To say that my first year involved in the St Bede’s parents association has been a little different than I expected would be an understatement. Over the last few months we have obviously needed to adjust our PA activities in line with the environment around us. This has seen a number of annual events and planned new events cancelled.

The Mother’s Day Stall, Mother’s Day Dinner, Father’s Pot and Parma Night all didn’t proceed as planned, however I do want to thank the Social Committee who had completed all the planning and shopping for the Mother’s Day Stall, I guess we will all have to wait until next year to see the fruits of their great work. Sadly the need to cancel events continues through Term 3 and the School Gala Night, Father’s Day Stall and Father’s Footy Grand Final Tuckshop Day will also not be held this year and a decision on the Father Child Camp will be made imminently.

On behalf of the PA committee, and I am sure all parents, I would like to thank our wonderful school teachers and staff for their commitment and creativity in ensuring our children still receive a quality learning experience in these difficult times. I would also like to thank and congratulate Principal, Brian Grace, and Deputy Principal, Larissa Boyhan, for their outstanding leadership and communication through what can only be described as unchartered waters for all, it is reassuring that so much effort and thought is put into keeping us informed and things moving forward for our school.

Finally I truly hope that we as a community, both school and the broader Victorian community, will be able to resume life as we know it soon.
