Models in Biology

Yr11 Biology students got CREATIVE in their quest to explore the structure of cell membranes.

Students engaged in a hands-on depth study that saw them in the driver's seat as they DESIGNED and CONSTRUCTED a model that not only demonstrated the structure of the cell membrane, but allowed their audience to observe the various transport mechanisms adopted by cells in the acquisition and removal of vital materials required for life.

Once students became experts, they shared the features of their model and were subject to peer reviews.

Students demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills and acquired deep knowledge on the application of Biology content beyond the scope of the science syllabus.

Students exceeded the expectations and needless to say that the models were OUTSTANDING.  Well done Biologists!
