News from Playgroup
It has been so wonderful to have all our friends return to playgroup this term. We have enjoyed getting to know lots of knew families and it has been a joy to see so many little learners enjoying the playroom. As well as perhaps a our best paw friend Angelique, who is particularly fond of all the children and the balls.
Recently, we created a salt painting. This is a simple activity which is rich in learning opportunities as it combines fine motor skills and tracing. The children were curious about the way in which the water colour spread as soon as it hit the salt.
If you would like to try this activity at home you only need a few items.
- PVA Glue
- Salt
- Water Colour
- Paint Brush
- Water
- A picture to trace
We created our own unique butterflies using sponges and paint. We painted our butterflies and then printed the image onto our page to see how our butterflies would turn out.
Supported playgroup is all about creating enriching learning opportunities through play that our adults can do with their child. As you can see our parents enjoy the activities as much as the little ones.
We recently enjoyed visiting our garden to forage for some goodies to create our very own sun catchers. It was lovely to explore what interesting shapes and textures our garden had on offer.
We look forward to many more rewarding playgroup activities in the future.
