We are pleased to announce that we have employed both a Teacher as well as an Educator.

Yushan Chen has been employed as our new Teacher to replace Kelly-Anne. Yushan has 8 years experience teaching Early Childhood, she is currently the Educational Leader as well as teaching a group of three year olds.

Yushan has a wonderful approach to utilising the environment in her teaching practice and had glowing reviews in how she supports and provides support for families and children in her capacity as Educational Leader and Teacher.

Kristy Kilgour has been employed as the Educator.

Kristy has a diploma of Early Childhood and has been educating in Early Childhood for three years. She has three children of her own and is excited to step into a role at Mt Pleasant that affords her the opportunity to share her passions and strengths.

Crazy Hair Day!

What a big week it was across all Kindergarten groups this week! There were so many exciting things happening. We held a Crazy Hair Day to raise money for flood-affected kindergartens in the Lismore area of NSW. Thank you to our families for participating in this initiative.

We also invited the wonderful mothers, grandmothers and women in our lives into our kindergarten and our children sang a number of songs we've been learning for our special visitors!

The other highlight was the opening of our newly-built fort! There were loud squeals of delight as the children took turns in climbing to the top and making their way down via the slide.

We would like to wish all of our hardworking, beautiful Mums a very happy Mother's Day - you deserve it!

Budja:

It has been a super busy, yet fantastic week in our Budja class!

With Mother's day concerts, stalls, crazy hair day and lots of learning as well, we definitely managed to squeeze a lot in!

The Mother's Day concert was a huge highlight for the week! The children loved performing a few songs for their mums and special visitors, we hope that you enjoyed the wonderful smiles, confidence and moments of passionate singing!

The week was also incredibly exciting because we opened the fort for the first time!

I can hear a collective YAY!!

The children loved the space, exploring the multi levels and adoring the slide!

It is such an incredible moment to witness the dreams and vision that we have had being used and explored for the first time!

We have also re-engaged with our learning around Autumn and will step back in to this over the coming sessions. There are lots of amazing learning moments we are eager to implement around this.

Gawarn:

How awesome are the colours of Autumn. Thank you for bringing in some leaves for us to look at size, shape and colour. We wondered why the leaves fall – the majority explaining that it was ‘definitely the wind’ whilst another explained that ‘someone comes and picks them’. We also looked at the ‘veins’ on the leaves and discussed how the sun, water and soil provides the nutrients for them to grow. This prompted us to look at our own ‘veins’ and how our own water and food provides nutrients to travel through our bodies to help us to grow.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the opening of the fort area of the playground – with very excited children using their great big muscles to climb, slide, try out the monkey bars and find some new hidey spots. There was also some ‘dinosaur eggs’ to be found and this was awesome timing as there had been great interest in making ‘dinosaur fossils’ with the play dough.

Our big highlight of the week of course was having our mum’s come to kinder for us to share some of our favourite songs. There was a big buzz and build up to the day and we very much loved it.  We had a wonderful time going shopping for a surprise to add to the gifts we had made at kinder. We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing day on Sunday.

Wimbi and Dharug:

We continue to love the great outdoors and being able to enjoy some sunshine. There is always amazing adventures in the big car, bravely going higher on the swings and continuing to surprise us with extremely yummy treats in the sandpit area. The big news – the fort area of the playground is open for business. Children navigated the area beautifully and were absolutely fantastic in the way they patiently waited for their turn on the very popular slide.

We are loving making homes for the dinosaurs with the playdough and have discovered mark making with the dinosaur feet. Track making for the trains is expanding each week and we are delighted with the sharing occurring. This is also evident in the home corner as the children’s language and social development deepens.

Our wonderful mum’s joined in with the singing and dancing as we celebrated our mum’s at kinder. This enabled each child to shine and not be overwhelmed with a big audience. Thank you for being so awesome and we have some pretty sensational dancers in our three year old groups. We hope you all had a fabulous – and restful day on Sunday.
