MFG Wellbeing Program: Project Rockit – Year 7, 8 and 9 – Friday 25th March

Since 2006, PROJECT ROCKIT has positively impacted over half a million young people all over Australia. PROJECT ROCKIT is an evidence-based, youth driven workshop that mobilise students to challenge (cyber) bullying instead of standing by watching. The approach is built on the simple premise that young people can create positive change in the world around them and is endorsed by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner. Our students participated in the following workshops on Friday 25th March.

  • Year 9, Period 1 and 2 – Rewrite Program (60mins) - Challenging prejudice, cultivating empathy, championing inclusion, building diversity literacy, strategies for allyship

  • Year 7, Period 3 and 4 – Connect Program (90mins) - Opportunities & challenges digital technology, critical thinking, mindful consumption, online consent, help-seeking, strategies to tackle online bullying with empathy

  • Year 8, Period 5 and 6 – Rally Program (90mins) - Uniting against (cyber)bullying, reflecting on past behaviour, overcoming risks to stand up instead of standing by, socially credible strategies

Gratitude Boxes

The senior leadership team have created up three boxes which you can find just out front of the house leaders office, these are known as the gratitude boxes. Gratitude means the state of being grateful or thankful. We have been amazed with the contributions to this and we will continue with these until we can share them at house assemblies. Thank you so much to everyone who’s showing some gratitude towards others within our school, and keep it up through this week!

Thanks again, your community captains
