School Council

Dear Parents,

Welcome back for term 2. Whilst school council has not met since our last newsletter, that does not mean that there hasn't been significant work done. No doubt by now you have seen the magnificent new fence surrounding the school.  With the gates soon to go on, the project is nearly complete. This makes the street appeal of our school much more attractive, and also provides additional security after hours keeping out unwanted visitors.

Also over the holiday period, the Prep/One corridor and our two prep classrooms had a makeover.  The bright white colour is very refreshing as are the new pin boards which will allow a lot more student work to be displayed.  If you haven't had a chance to take a look so far, be sure to take a look when you can. This is the first stage in having all of the hallways and classrooms updated over the next few years.

Our final project for the holidays was to have the oval reconfigured to include two FUTSAL soccer pitches and two softball pitches.  Unfortunately COVID struck, so the tradespeople for this work will be along in the coming weeks.

Also since our last meeting, the Education sub-committee finalised our new Parent Information Booklet, brilliantly put together by Ms Wilson and her team on the Community Engagement and Staff Wellbeing Committee.  The new Parent Booklet will be centre stage at our upcoming Enrolment Information Night on May 18 from 5:15pm. If you, or someone you know, has a prep child for next year be sure to attend the event for a nice sausage sizzle, a show bag for the pre-school children, a school tour from our student leaders followed by the information session itself. Child-minding is available from TheirCare free of charge for those attending.

The next meeting of school council will be on May 11th. I look forward to updating you all after that.

Regards,

Vince Scarfo
