Happy snaps from the past fortnight!

Ukrainian flower crowns make a statement

Senior School students have banded together to launch a fundraiser to show solidarity with Ukraine and members of our College community who have family and friends affected by the crisis.

With the help of Secondary teacher, Catherine Sandric, the group organised a Ukrainian flower crown-making workshop at lunchtime today using fresh flowers and foliage donated by staff members, with all proceeds going to the Caritas Australia Ukraine Appeal.

Students and staff across the College were also encouraged to wear blue and yellow today to show their support and raise awareness for the campaign in exchange for a gold coin donation. Thank you to everyone who generously contributed to the appeal. The kindness and generosity of our students, and their willingness to support those in need, is truly remarkable.

We continue to pray for an end to the war and for lasting peace. To support Ukraine via donation, please visit this link.

Year 7 HaSS puts Salamanca under the spotlight

Year 7 HaSS students swapped their classroom for the sun-dappled lawns of Salamanca during a recent excursion to the Hobart precinct. It wasn't just a walk in the park, however—students put on their thinking caps to rate the 'liveability' of the area based on environment, social, cultural, infrastructure and economic factors.

Year 8 mountain escape

Year 8 students took to the slopes of Mt Wellington/kunanyi recently on a geography excursion. The day was packed with learning opportunities as the girls set to work gathering information on the geographical values of the mountain and its management. Highlights included a guided tour of Sphinx Rock and a visit to the pinnacle, where students enjoyed the view while learning about the first visitors to the mountain, the Muwinina people.

Oh, what a camp!

Our Year 9 students recently enjoyed some time in the sun on their camp at the Woodfield Adventure Park in Dysart. Students had many laughs and fun times while learning to surf, tackling an obstacle course and trying their hand at archery.
