Senior School Update

There has been loads of positivity coming out of the senior end of school. Our Year 12 mascot ‘Rosie the Rosella’ continues to warm hearts and build cohesion amongst the cohort.

We saw some magnificent leadership (and the outfits to match) from our Year 12s at the

annual athletics day. Congratulations to Tanesha and Zeke who won the ‘Rosie the Rosella’ award this week for their amazing get up on the day.

Today (Tuesday April 5th) is our first ever ‘Tradie Tuesday’. Year 12s came dressed as their favourite tradie! What do you think of the outfits? Students made a gold coin donation which is going to the Good Friday Appeal.  Our Year 11s are looking forward to next year’s event!

In Year 11 students are currently undertaking a week of work experience across a wide range of professions. Keep an eye out for photos of our Year 11s hard at work in the next newsletter.

Finally, students in our VCE and VCAL pathways have been putting in a real shift as we wrap up the end of a very busy Term 1. Coursework catch up sessions were held in the senior study centre recently to help students get back on top of their extensive workloads. With the upcoming holidays, it is crucial that students both rest up and stay on track with their progress. We strongly encourage our VCE and VCAL students to do the following over the break:

  1. Maintain a healthy sleep routine (don’t get in the habit of staying up late – it’s really hard to undo this once school returns!)
  2. Maintain a steady study schedule (for Year 12s that means factoring in at least a few hours of study per day). We recommend continuing to follow your school timetable: 9-3pm each day with breaks for recess and lunch.
  3. Make time for social events and relaxation (but do so in moderation).

Thanks to all of our senior students for their commitment to their studies this term. We hope you have a nice break and look forward to seeing you back at the start of Term 2!
