Year 8 Wellbeing Day

On Wednesday March 30th, Year 8 students participated in a wellbeing day – we have not been able to celebrate wellbeing days in the past 2 years, so it was great to be able to offer this to our students again

The day consisted of various activities – every student went from group to group, so they had the chance to participate in everything.

Cyber Safety with Legal Aid –

Bridget, a Legal Aid educator,  presented a very informative session on cyber safety.  The students were very engaged and asked lots of questions.

Resilience with Youth Services –

Cardinia Shire Youth Services workers gave a presentation on their new space in Pakenham and worked with the students on resilience strategies.

Mindfulness with Darryl –

Darryl, a member of the wellbeing team, showed students the benefits of mindfulness, a way to breath and relax.

Gardening with Kate –

Kate, another member of our wellbeing team, showed students the value of gardening, getting your hands dirty and working the earth.  The students planted succulents in the sensory garden

Yoga with Emerald Pilates –

Di, from Emerald Pilates, worked with students through stretching and movement. Encouraging exercise as a way to feel good.

Fun in EPAC -

We ended the day all together in EPAC  - We had fun playing some interesting Minute to Win It games”  Tea-towel races, balloon popping games, stocking balls on their heads etc

Enjoy the photos – the Year 8s were cheering their teammates – it was loud and wonderful  - it was a fantastic day
