Celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation 

Last Wednesday, March 30th, we celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation. 

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also known as the Sacrament of Penance and is also commonly referred to as a child's First Confession. This Sacrament is one of healing. The emphasis in preparing children for Reconcilaition is based on asking the children to reflect on times when they did not live as Jesus asked them.

We congratulate Caolan Mayne, Leo Trajkovski, Hamish Rogers, Sophie Brunton, Benedict Stott, Stella Cerantola, Frankie Indovino, Sansa Barker, Elise Jones, Raiquen Alborida, Oscar Toohey - Wrotny, Millicent Floyd and their families. 

The Children were beautifully prepared and we would particularly like to thank the classroom teachers and supporting staff who made the night so successful. We would also like to thank Father Shabin and Father Dixon for their spiritual guidance on the night and always. The most important thank you goes to the children and families who attended and were so reverant and respectful on the night, it was such a beautiful celebration.

Religious Education at Saint Joseph’s 

We are a Catholic School that models Religious Education lessons around the teachings of the Gospel where we are all encouraged to be the best person that we can be. We promote curiosity and wonder when exploring themes of Social Justice and we approach this learning using an Inquiry method based on the Pedagogy of Encounter. We explore other religions in the context of the Christian faith and encourage tolerance and acceptance of all people and all religious denominations.
