They participated in a guided museum exhibition walkthrough at the Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), hands-on printmaking workshops, behind-the-scenes gallery insights and a tour of the busy Art, Architecture, and Design studios and facilities on campus.
Year 8 Observational Drawing

Year 9 Studio Art Photography
Students have been planning, shooting, and developing analogue film under the theme of ‘Weird & Wonderful Portraits’. Students will apply their knowledge of producing a Photogram into Term 2 for them to produce prints from their negatives.
Years 11 & 12 Top Arts
Year 11 and 12 Art and Studio Art Students were able to go to the National Gallery of Victoria on April 5th for the annual Top Arts excursion. Students attended a lecture, exhibition and folio viewing session across the day and also got to visit the world-famous Hosier Lane to view the ever-changing street art. Students represented the school wonderfully on the day and returned to class feeling inspired and motivated!
Year 8 Wetlands Excursion
All Year 8 Art classes were able to attend an exciting art excursion across weeks 7 and 8 of Term 1 into the Wetlands behind the school to draw Outside! After learning about the French Impressionist practice of ‘En Plein Air’ drawing and painting, students were able to experience it for themselves. Each excursion was a great success, with students using the day as inspiration for creating a final artwork in class over the following lessons.
