City Trips During Activities Week
On the last week of Term 1, we participated in a range of activities. Some of these activities involved travelling into the city via train. On the Monday the entire year level travelled to the city to participate in a tour visiting sites such as China town, State Library, Fed Square, and many more. After visiting these locations, we participated in a self guided tour around the city with a map of locations we had to visit and meet with teachers. Many students were under the impression that this was a race. It was later revealed not to be. That Thursday (group 1), we went to the city once again. Thursday however, involved completing an inquiry project designed by ourselves. Some inquiry questions involved were: Where is the best bakery in Melbourne? Where are the best macarons in Melbourne? Everybody's questions were different and we all had a lot of fun. Thursday also involved heading to Strike bowling at Melbourne Central at various times throughout the day. Overall, the city trips were lots of fun and extremely worthwhile.

Tree Surfing
During our activity week we went to the Enchanted Maze to go tree surfing. We were put in harnesses and sent up onto a rope obstacle course in the trees. It was an exciting adventure that challenged our mind and body. Being careful with each step, everyone made it around the course successfully. There were 5 levels of courses each increasing in difficulty, meaning everyone could have a challenge. Not only did we got to do the tree surfing, but we also got to enjoy the many mazes throughout the park, making it a fun day for all.

School for Student Leadership
For 8 weeks in term one, Lochie and I were fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to go to Gnurad Gundidj, School for student leadership. It was an amazing camp and school like program where we developed our leadership skills and learnt so many amazing new attributes. Our classes weren’t like your typical academic schoolwork, we learnt about skills for life: like first aid training, public speaking, teamwork, food handling and so much more. We also went camping, hiking, surfing, mountain bike riding, raft building and did so many more amazing activities; all whilst being in the immersive community with 36 other Year 9 students from across Victoria. It was such a great experience that we are both so grateful to have had. We are looking forward to implementing our Bush Tucker Garden throughout the year.
