Here in Yr7 Food Technology, our aim is to introduce students to everyday food preparation techniques that will stay with them for their lifetime. Todays lesson featured on “safety in the kitchen” using the stove and a frypan. Students set about making pancakes and discovered the science behind Baking Powder! They made big ones and small ones and even….square one! Near the end of the lesson students evaluated their pancakes using a “sensory evaluation chart” before they ate them with strawberries and ice-cream.
It was flipping good fun!
