Mia was recently awarded Baw Baw Shire Young Citizen of the Year for her contribution to the community as an inspiring advocate for health, fitness, mental health and social connection through the Aim 2 Run initiative. She is a role model and leader for other young people within the community, particularly young women. Mia regularly hosts discussions on mental health and wellbeing across Baw Baw Shire. She is creating positive change in our local community and having lots of fun along the way. We are so proud of you, Mia for the person you are and for the way you are out in the world living by your values. Aim to Run is a revolution of love and tenderness!

Amidst her super busy schedule, Mia kindly agreed to answer a few questions connected with her career journey to date.

  • What year did you finish school?
  • What are your memories of MSCW?
  • How do you think your experiences at MSCW helped you become the person you are today?
  • Was there anyone at MSCW or in your life who had a positive impact and on reflection, influenced you to follow the pathway you have chosen?
  • What did you do after leaving MSCW and where are you or what is your role now?
  • Greatest accomplishments and/or defining moments?
  • What advice would you like to give any of our current MSCW students, especially those considering a similar pathway?
  • Anything else you would like to include (eg. future pathways plans)?

Here is a video (approx. 9mins) of her responses https://vimeo.com/800381629/5d09daa9d1
