Education in Faith

Week 5 Of Lent

Today we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Lent.

On our Lenten journey so far,

the readings have helped us to focus on desert times in our lives (Week 1),

to listen carefully to the words of Jesus (Week 2),

to think of the message of Jesus as water which gives us life for our journey (Week 3)

and that Jesus words give us insight and understanding (Week 4).

We are nearly at the end of Lent and soon we will be celebrating Holy Week and Easter.

This week we pray that the Spirit of God breathes right into our core to renew our hearts and minds.

Lenten Prayer

Let us pray,

Gracious and loving God,

you gave us your Son Jesus to show us how to live good lives.

Help us to follow his words and deeds so that we can live in strong relationships filled with kindness and compassion.

Help us to treat others as you treat us and give us hearts full of love and mercy.

May we grow in faith and trust, always willing to do your will. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

All: Amen.
