Term 1, Week 10

Thank you for your support in your little ones first term of school! We appreciate your help in making their first term a great one!

Prep Reminders:

Holiday Pack

Today you will have received a pack of activities to do with your child over the holidays. Your little ones have been working so hard throughout this term, and we need to make sure that all of this new information is not forgotten over the holidays. All it takes is 10 minutes a day! Thank you for your support with this.

Cued Articulation

As part of our Literacy program we teach students a hand action that represents the way a sound leaves a persons mouth (cued articulation). As we are teaching sounds and not letters this is different to Auslan. Sounds are invisible, therefore hand gestures help form a connection between the sound and a child's brain.

Please see below the link to the cued articulation video:

What we have been up to...

Anzac Day with Mrs Orr

Last week, the Preps looked at an ANZAC PowerPoint, talked about the meaning of ANZAC Day and what the date is. We talked about poppies and listened to The Last Post with a minute silence and an Anzac Spirit song. We discussed the uniforms of service men and women and what a wreath is. We then made a wreath. The Preps did an excellent job as we went through step by step to create it.

Cross Country

The Preps had a fabulous day at Cross Country! Well done to everyone who participated and congratulations to all who placed.

Easter Hat Parade

What a fun end to Term 1! The Preps were so happy and excited about their amazing hats! Thank you for your work on their hats.
