Learning Tasks

This term, three classroom-based Learning Tasks were released: Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Prep families had two Learning Tasks released - English and Mathematics. Specialist Learning Tasks were released as follows: Prep (Art), 1/2 (Auslan) 3/4 (P.E.) and 5/6 (Music).

When parents/carers open a Learning Task they should be able to see an overview of the task, commentary provided by the teacher and for most tasks, an 'artefact' (attachment)

We hope you found the Learning Tasks in Term 1 a valuable insight into your child's progress in these key learning areas.

Netbooks Over the Holidays

Grade 3 to 6 students will leave their netbooks at school during the holiday period. Teachers have made arrangements this week to store all devices securely.

Lunch Orders

Lunch orders will recommence in Week 2 (Term 2) on Thursday 4th May.

ANZAC Commemorative Service for Students

On Wednesday, Emma, Remy, Hunter and Mr Parkes represented SGPS at the ANZAC Commemorative Service for Students at the Shrine of Remembrance. As part of the service, we heard Noah Pappas read ‘We Shall Keep the Faith’ and Pin Qi Wong read ‘In Flanders Fields’. The three of us got to lay the wreath for our school at the Eternal Flame and we got to see the torch. Everyone had a moment of silence to remember the people that fought for our land and gave their lives up to keep our country safe. As we looked around we saw symbols of freedom and peace.

After the ceremony we walked around the Shrine and got to see the stone scultpures which were carved round about 100 years ago. When we climbed the Shrine to get to the balcony we got to see the view of Melbourne.

Legacy has helped the veterans for 100 years, starting in 1923. We were very proud to represent Spring Gully Primary School.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Easter holiday break. See you all in Term 2!
