COMPASS APP FOR PARENTS

Most of you have been using Compass for some time now and will be familar with many of its features.  BUT did you know you can access instructions on how to use the app?

Simply click on the pencil icon, then select School Resources from the list.

From the School Resources Page, click on the Parents Compass Student M... folder then select the Compass Student Manager App How-To (on the right hand side).

This will create a file for you to download.

Click on Download File to download it to your device.

Why SchoolTV? Because we know parenting can be hard!

How do we ensure our children are practising Safe Online Behaviour and what does that even mean?  How do we navigate such a topic, especially when we may not be as “tech savvy” as our own children?

This is definitely a relevant area of concern for all parents. Even when our children are not online they are exposed to it through family, friends and the world around them. We see it on TV, we hear it on the radio, we read about it in books and so do our children.

Fortunately there is lots of information about practising safe online behaviour, we just have to navigate it.  SchoolTV has an interesting special report on Cyberbullying that highlights the dangers and risks associated with social media.  It was created in the wake of the tragic death of 14-year-old, Amy 'Dolly' Everett.

This week we would like to introduce you to a new resource, specifically for parents on parenting.  The Australian Parenting Website, raisingchildren.net.au provides ad-free parenting videos, articles and apps backed by Australian experts.  

You may already be familiar with this website if you have been actively using SchoolTV.  If not, this website covers many topics under age group TABs so you do not need to wade through huge amounts of resources and information only to find it may not be relevant to your child because of their age.
