Class 1/2 with Kristie

In our class we have been focusing on our Storyboard to produce our own books throughout term 1.  We are learning about beginings, middle and endings, learning to use nouns, adjective, verbs, adverbs when constructing our sentences.

Grow Your Mind Lessons

All Preps -3  have been paired up as their teachers take them through the Well Being Curriculum of Grow Your Mind.  It enables children to learn different parts of the brain, and how to grow strengths, develop resilience, gratitude and learn strategies around how to be clam, and become a good and empathetic friend.

For our older students it's has become a great opportunity for them to become leaders.

Space Sciences Education Centre Incursion

Reach for the Stars

Students in years 3-6 built and launched water rockets which are simple, cheap, safe, guaranteed to fly and can be launched repeatedly. Every rocket will fly! The aim of this incursion is for Students to leave with a grasp of how forces act on the rocket at various stages in the launching, flight and landing process.

• Students worked in pairs, helping each other build and launch rockets.
• In a designated safe area between 20 and 50 metres long by 20 metres wide: our students could safely test their rocket.
• The aim is to hit a 5 meter Mars target.
• Students where able to do at least two launches of each rocket.

Buddy Program

Our Year 6 students have been helping our Prep/1 class make a tree which will be displayed with family photos, "Our Family Tree"
