Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

I hope you all enjoyed the extra long weekend. Although this week has been short, there has still been plenty of things happening in the school!

Yesterday, was the Preps first Wednesday and the start of full-time attendance.  As we get closer to the end of term, families may find that there child is getting tired and needing a rest day.  If you have any concerns, please speak to Ellen about this.

Wednesday was also the start of NAPLAN testing for students in Years 3 and 5.  This will continue next Monday and Tuesday, and will include the completion of any catch up tests.

Today and tomorrow, students in Years 3-6 are having the opportunity to participate in a special Science Incursion called 'Reach for the Stars'.  As part of this activity, students have assembled and launched their own rockets. This incursion has been presented free of charge, thanks to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre.

Next Week is Harmony Week and we will be celebrating with a special day of rotational activities on Thursday and a 'Dance Around the World' day on Friday.  Families are invited to join us in the afternoon for a 'dance off'.  More information will be provided next week.

In addition, on Friday, we will also be having a (sun smart) casual dress day to raise funds for the purchase and upgrade of sports equipment. Please send along a gold coin donation to support this cause.

Friday, March 24th, is also Ride to School Day, so please try to use active travel (ride, scoot, walk) on this day!

Our office staff, Amanda and Joy, are running an Easter competition for students.  For more information, please take a look at our Book Club page.

Please contact Amanda and Joy if you have some fundraising ideas or time to help out!

We are still needing volunteers for the Year 3-6 Cluster Athletics on Monday 3rd of April.  If you can help out with events or the BBQ, please let Steph or the office know asap.
