World's Greatest Shave

A huge thank you to Michelle Mayhew and the Year 1 VET Salon Assistant students for supporting Jared Ashtree’s fundraising event - Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave Wednesday, 21 March. To date Jarod has raised $1,132.01 with the support of family, friends and colleagues at Melton SC.

Apart from practising their salon skills, the students learned about what happens to donated hair and how to prepare it for donating. 

(FYI - Long hair is turned into wigs for cancer patients and shorter hair is transformed into compost and floating hair booms to contain oil spills at sea).

The annual Western Chances Awards Ceremony was held on 22 March at Federation Square Melbourne.
