Harmony Day

4P Reflections

On Wednesday 22 March, it was Harmony Day for our school where we dressed up in orange or your traditional clothes. On that day we wore our traditional clothes to represent all the different countries coming together to live in peace and harmony.

I saw lots of beautiful costumes around the school. I especially liked this one costume which had lots of colourful layers and patterns. Sadly there wasn’t a parade this year so we couldn’t see all the spectacular costumes.

Everyone in the school made paper people dressed up in their traditional costumes and the teachers stuck them up in the library. They were all so well drawn. I even found my own paper person.

Our class is still working on a Harmony Day colouring sheet where everyone contributes on a piece of paper and it will be stuck together to create one giant mural.

Overall the day was a success! But I was burning inside my dress because it was a winter dress. But it was worth it because I felt very happy because I could wear something so beautiful!

Thank you for reading this newsletter. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

National Ride2School Day

On Friday 24 March, our school celebrated National Ride2School Day. Ride2School is a nationwide program that aims to encourage, empower, and enable more students to be physically active on their way to school.

The event was a great success at Essex Heights with the bike shed jam packed with bicycles and scooters. Our JSC representatives were hard at work promoting the event and welcoming kids with fruit and stickers.

Overall, 80 students rode a bike, 38 rode a scooter, and 152 kids walked to school on National Ride2School Day! Congratulations to everyone who participated!
