Yarning Circle News
The past fortnight saw our yarning circle celebrating a very special date being Harmony Day 21st March. Harmony day sees all cultures throughout Australia recognised and celebrated any way chosen by participants. BNPS yarning circle celebrated Harmony Day by inviting a friend to join our yarning circle for the session. With their chosen friends at their side the yarning students were part of some traditional indigenous games and were able to share a special treat with some indigenous food shared around. The students appreciated being able to invite friends to be a part of the yarning circle and will look to make this a feature every term.
For the final session of the yarning, students were making landscapes from Australia using shapes that compliment those landscapes. These landscapes are displayed in the library for anyone who would like to observe. We are looking forward to term 2 of our yarning circles and have some great activities planned and lots of dates to focus on and celebrate.
