Grade 1 and 2

Tennis clinics are running on Wednesdays for the rest of term. In the last week of term, we will go across to the Warrandyte tennis courts for a gala session with the coaches. 

Writer's and Reader's Workshop: Grade 1s and 2s have continued working on proper nouns and have started looking at narratives.

Maths: We have been working on place value; two digit numbers for grade 1 and three digit and beyond for grade 2.

Inquiry: Our focus this term is on learning about communities, what it means to be a part of a community and why community is so important. We had a trip to the CFA this week. It was wonderful to meet the fire fighters in our local area and speak to them about how they help us in our community. We learned that they don't only help with putting out fires, they also help if something is stuck up high or there is a car crash and we should always call 000 in an emergency.

• Week 7 - CFA firesafe excursion (Grade 1 Thursday 16th 12:15-1:30) (Grade 2 Friday 17th 9:15-11:15am) 
• Week 8 - Friday 31 March community walk - further details to follow
• Week 9 - Teacher planning week  (all specialist classes on one day.)
• Week 10 - Wednesday 5th gala day at the Warrandyte tennis courts.
• Week 10 - We finish at 2:30pm on Thursday 6th April
