PBS X-Change
Ms Hullin - Positive Behaviour Support Leader of Learning
This week the PBS X-Change will be opening. The X-Change is a room where students can exchange the credits they have earnt for reinforcing items. Below you can read about what a credit is and how the X-Change appears on Compass. Encourage your child/children to attend the X-Change and exchange their credits when they have earnt enough. If they would like to suggest new X-Change items they can speak to an SRC leader about this.
What is a Positive Behaviour Credit?
When a staff member observes your child behave in a positive way they may issue a Positive Behaviour Credit to your child on Compass. Students “earn” positive behaviour credits for independently displaying positive behaviours. Staff will not “give out” credits when students ask for them. You will see the positive behaviour credits appear in your child’s student chronicle feed. It will look similar to the example below. The compass chronicle log will tell you when, where and how your child was respectful, responsible, a learner or a community member. This will allow you to also discuss the positive behaviour at home with your child.
The X-Change room locations and times can be seen below. The X-Change item list will be updated periodically to show how many of each item remain. Excursion and Pizza lunch X-Changes need to occur before the end of Term 3 so that the excursion can be planned for Term 4. If students would like to request new X-Change items they can pass their suggestions onto their SRC leaders.
