HARMONY DAY

T1 2023

Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. Held every year in March, Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Harmony Day is Tuesday 21st March, but we will celebrate it on Friday 24th March (Week 8)

On Friday 24th March, students will have the opportunity to wear blue and orange for a gold coin donation. Funds raised will be donated to the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation.

Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Wearing orange shows support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.

On Friday, students will also have the opportunity to participate in activities and discuss what Harmony Day means to each of us. These are some activities that our students have been working on throughout the week…
