Colour Run

We are so excited for the Colour Run on Friday 31st March!

This is an 'opt-out' event. If you do not give consent for your child to participate in the Colour Run on Friday 31st of March, held within the school grounds, please let your childs teacher know via email by Wednesday 29th of March.

The Kinder children from Waratah and Wattle will be given the opportunity to run the course at approx. 2pm on Friday.  The groups will run together with the support of teachers and some parent helpers.

For Banksia and Lasiandra families wanting to participate you are welcome to come up to the school join in with your children and have a turn around the track from 3:45-4:15pm. Children must be supervised by a parent.

Important notes for the day

  • The children should wear a white t-shirt and old shorts/pants/shoes. The colour should come out of clothing, but there may be a chance of some reminders of the day left on the fabric!
  • It is suggested that children who would like to participate in the Colour Run, but not have colour splashed on them should wear a dark coloured t-shirt so they can be easily identified by the people manning the colour stations.
  • The kinder children will each receive a pair of sunglasses to wear on the day, as well as headbands and wristbands!

There will be a sausage sizzle, ice-cream truck and coffee van available for families to make a purchase from. The ice-cream and coffee vans will be onsite from about 2pm for parents to purchase from, but students will need to wait until after 3:30pm.

Remember, if you have not yet registered to be a fundraiser for this event, please using the link  https://myprofilepage.com.au/ to set up a profile and start raising funds! All funds raised will go towards repairing the stadium floor.

Car Park

A reminder to all families, that parents are NOT to park in the staff car park, especially pull up in the middle of the car park, to drop off or pick up.

No matter the weather, all families need to use the car park at the reserve.  It is not safe to double park in the staff car park.

Parent Library

In the foyer you will see our Parent Library has been moved to a new home.  We are hoping this is a more convenient location for families to see it and utilise.  These books are for parents to borrow.  There is a variety of books on offer all  in some way in relation to parenting and child development.  Please feel free to borrow these books, by filling out the borrowing book with the name of the book and and name of the person borrowing it and the date.  We are always looking for new bookds to add to our parent library, so please feel free to let us know any titles you think could be good to add.

Please speak to the staff if you have any questions.

Room Names

Last year the decision was made to rename the rooms since the rooms were going to become destinctive 3 and 4 YO programs.  There was much discussion about the names and many suggestions!

The final decision was made and just this week our wooden room signs have arrived to offially mark the new names of our kinder rooms.

It was decided to use words from the Woiwurrung Language of the Wurundjeri people, the traditional custodians of the land of Melbourne and its surrounds, including Vermont.

"Winmali" means North and "Gurrin" mean South.

Winmali Room - North
Gurrin Room - South
