From the School Council

The Voting is IN, and our School Council has now been selected, and the team has gotten straight to work.

The 2022 Political Elections are also over and the Victorian State Politicians are now busy trying to deliver on their election promises!  In Good News, our newly elected Labour Member for Glen Waverley, John Mullahy  visited our amazing Vermont Primary School this week to meet with our Principals and School Council.  He has promised that getting an upgrade on our existing building infrastructure is his top schooling priority in his electorate…. Our fingers are crossed!

The argument for pushing for new facilities is a tough one.  We have an amazing and stable teaching and leadership group.  Overall, our student results are some of the best in the area.  So why fix something that isn’t broken?  That is the argument that we face.  We are pushing to share that our North and South Buildings are too old and no longer fit for purpose.  We are pushing for a dedicated STEM facility that would help consolidate our future Engineers and Technology Inventors from our student base!  We want to continue to make Vermont Primary the destination school of the Eastern Suburbs well into the future.

Over the coming months, we will be providing regular facilities updates through this newsletter forum.  Whether it be the smaller schools upgrades such as the new grass areas near the mini basketball court and art room, to larger projects such as getting our stadium back in action, to the large scale Government Interaction we are having with John Mullahy and the State Departments.

So Stay Tuned for further updates!

Just a final note, whist we will be providing regular updates through our school newsletter over the coming months, for those on Facebook, please continue to stay Following our Page! We hope to have exciting news on a Government Petition shortly that we would love to have your support on!
