Meet our eSmart Leaders

Meet our eSmart Leaders

This year our eSmart Leaders are Anya and Hermione. They have already presented their first eSmart tip at our assembly last Monday!  When I asked the girls what they wanted the school community know about them, they said:

"As your 2023 eSmart Leaders we will strive to keep the school cyber safe."

eSmart Lessons

Next week the Foundation - Year 4 students will participate in an eSmart lesson to assist them develop smart, safe and responsible behaviours around digital devices.

How do you go places safely online?

The power of the internet allows students to experience and visit places they might not be able to see in person. But, just like traveling in the real world, it's important to be safe when traveling online. In foundation we are beginning our journey. To begin, the children will go on a virtual field trip, to practice staying safely on line.

From our head to our toes and our feet up to our nose, The Digital Citizens will show the Year 1 students the importance of being smart, safe & responsible online. The "Pause & Think Online" song will assist the students to remember basic digital citizenship concepts.

Please see the relevant Family Tip sheet below for further information.

The Mighty Heroes are here! They will help teach the Year 2 students the importance of being responsible and respectful online. Students will learn to question what they see, hear and do online while being encouraged to trust their feelings when something doesn’t feel right. This week the Year 2 students will be introduced to Dusty the Frilled Neck Lizard’s superpower – Trusting your feelings. They will learn how to listen to their body clues, close the screen if something doesn’t feel right and to ask a trusted adult for help.

The Year 3’s will explore the difference between personal and private information and thus learn what information is ok to share. The Year 4’s will look at how they can be positive and have fun while playing online games, as an important component of being a good digital citizen.
