Hello Year 5 and 6 Parents.

It is incredible to think that we are only a few weeks away from the end of Term 1. The students have been working extremely hard in the classroom and have some exciting events coming up. Please enjoy reading about the activities the students have been involved in over the last 2 weeks and the important dates to be aware of for the next month.

In the last few weeks, the Year 5 students have been learning how to write a persuasive argument, revising their skills of the four processes and developing their knowledge of the geography of Australia in relation to the world. The Year 6 students have been focusing on narratives, revising their skills of the four processes and using this knowledge in real life Mathematical problems and researching a specific area of interest for their iTime Expo.

The Year 6 'iTime' Expo

On Thursday April 6th the Year 6 students will be having their iTime expo. The expo will be held in The Learning Centre starting at 11.30am and concluding at 1pm and parents are invited to come along and look at the creative displays that the students have made. This is the culmination of the research that the students have been doing throughout this term. We cannot wait to see the creative ways that the students will be presenting their iTime projects.

Year 5 Holocaust Excursion

When we went to the Holocaust Museum we made fake ID cards and had a few minutes to memorise them. Then the teacher asked us: Who are your parents? How old are you? When were you born?

It made us feel a bit anxious and pressured which is definitely nothing compared to what the Jewish people felt but it was still pretty scary.

We also got to meet a Holocaust survivor and it was something we will always cherish.
