Dear Level 2 Families,

Please see below for some important information and details regarding a range of upcoming events in our level.

Cultural Day Assembly

Next Monday is our Cultural Day assembly starting at 9:10 am in the Stadium. Students are invited to come to school dressed wearing clothing that represents their cultural identity, or orange to celebrate Harmony.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent teacher interviews have begun this week. Thank you to the parents who have taken the time to book and attend an interview with their child’s teacher. If you haven’t booked a time and would still like to talk to your child’s teacher, please email them as soon as possible as the booking system is closed.

Late arrivals / Absences

We have noticed that recently a lot of parents are dropping their children off late at school. If students are late after the 9am bell, they must be signed in at the office by an adult for legal reasons, otherwise they may be marked as absent for the day. If your child is away for whatever reason, parents are able to notify the teacher by putting their absence onto Sentral along with a short reason.

Term Two Swimming Program

Swimming lessons will again be occurring in Term Two. To prepare your child for this, please allow them to practise dressing and undressing by themselves during the school holidays so that they can do this independently when we go swimming next term. Further details about our swimming program will be available next term. If you wish to help out at swimming, you will be required to have and display your "Working With Children's Check" card.

Easter Eggs - Thursday 6th April (last day of Term 1)

The end of Term 1 is fast approaching and to celebrate, teachers would like to facilitate an Easter activity towards the end of the term (week 11). This activity will involve the students making an Easter basket, together with each child receiving a small amount of small, solid Darrell Lea Easter eggs on the Thursday morning. Please let your child’s teacher know by the end of Monday 3rd April if you do not wish for your child to participate in this activity / receive the Easter Eggs, or if your child has special dietary requirements that need to be considered. Thank you.

Inquiry:

As a fun way to finish off our inquiry topic this term, we will be watching the movie Trolls (Grade 1s) and Ice Age (Grade 2s). As it is a PG movie, please advise your child’s teacher if you do not wish for your child to watch the movie.
