May Book Review

Our featured book this month is beautiful. It's called Respect and is written by Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson and is spectacularly illustrated by Lisa Kennedy. The book is part of a series called Our Place (the second book, Family). This warm, gentle book shows us what the concept of respect, learn and share looks like for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people - respect for culture, stories, song, elders and Country. The simple, poetic text is the perfect balance for the glowing illustrations that bring further layers of understanding to the words.
