Around Our School
CHILL OUT AND LOOK ABOUT'
LEAD Project
The Semester 1 LEAD Class is working on a road safety campaign. This is something close to us and has become a topic of interest and concern due to the recent loss of our classmate Dylan Briggs. We are promoting awareness to improve etiquette for all road users, whether they are driving, riding a bike or are a pedestrian. Our message is simple and that is to get home safely, not quickly.
We will be using our campaign motto of "Chill out and look about". We intend this motto to be easily remembered and hopefully will enter your head before and whilst on and around roads.
We are working with Dylan’s family on this campaign. A few of the goals we are aiming to achieve include: changing the speed limit where the accident occurred, creating a resource pack on road safety for not only our school to use, but a learning tool that can be used at all schools throughout the community via a website and a video.

CASUAL DRESS DAY
The Term One Casual Dress Day was held on Friday 20 March for Wildlife Victoria.
Wildlife Victoria has provided the community with a Wildlife Emergency Response service for 30 years, to protect wildlife by rescue, provide education about wildlife and facilitate the care needed. Every year, thousands of native animals in Victoria become sick, injured or orphaned, often because of natural disasters but also as a direct result of human activity. Especially with the recent bushfires, wildlife has been threatened the most and are suffering from these conditions.
This casual dress day, we were able to raise $1705.40 for Wildlife Victoria, despite the low attendance on the day. By students and teachers donating, the money raised can not only spread awareness about native wildfire, but also aid with much-needed funds to help sick, injured and orphaned native animals.
Due to the coronavirus, last minute changes with food related activities were made, however we were still successful in running the following activities:
- Dodgeball with the Sports Leadership
- Drama Games
On behalf of the SLC, we would like to thank the Office Staff, Mr John Angus, Mrs Emma Evans and the Finance Team, Mrs Chloe Stevens, Luke Rowe and Sports Leadership. We would also like to thank students for being adaptable and helpful when circumstances were changed.
Thank you to all students & staff who donated towards the Wildlife Victoria charity.
