Balgo Clothing Drive
Over the last few weeks, St James has been collecting warm clothing to send to the community of Balgo in WA. St James has a strong connection with Balgo, having completed Immersion Trips there in the last few years. Unfortunately, this year we are unable to complete the trip given the risks associated with COVID-19. Community members of Balgo, given the restrictions on travel, have been unable to travel to go shopping to gather warm clothes. Additionally, income through the Arts Centre has being hindered given the restrictions on visitors to the community.
Accordingly, the community has put out a request for support in the way of warm clothing. We have now amassed just over twenty kilograms of clothing to send to Balgo. Thanks to all of the staff and students who have donated clothing. We will be posting this clothing prior to the end of the Term and it should arrive in Balgo in a few weeks. If you would like to make a contribution, we will be collecting clothes until the end of the Term.
