A reminder that you are now able to enrol your child for prep for 2021. If you would like to return your enrolment forms to us here at kinder, we can pass it onto the school. Enrolment forms are available on the school website or we can give you one at kinder pick up or drop off.
Kinder in 2021
In 2021 our timetable has changed to reflect the needs of our community. After consultation with families in Orange group who are currently having three sessions of kinder over the week, we have decided to offer three groups of four year old kindergarten over two long days. The new timetable for next year is now up on our kindergarten page on the school website.
2021 Kindergarten Offers and Group Allocation
To be considered for a first round enrolment offer for kindergarten place in 2021 you need to have submitted your enrolment application through the City of Monash online portal. Starting this year City of Monash will also manage the kindergartens Group Allocations.
On June 1 City of Monash will send all registered families an email requesting they check their details and select group preferences. Plus request they advise if they no longer require a position at a kinder within City of Monash.
Families can select up to six preferences meaning they can select all three 4yo groups for Oakleigh PS Kinder and then any other kindergartens.
City of Monash allocates places and then groups based on our Priority of Access criteria (see our Enrolment policy on the Oakleigh PS Kindergarten website. If a family does not receive their first group preference they are offered their second. Which they can either decline, accept or accept and wait. This last option allows them to accept the second preference but be placed on a waitlist for their first preference. Regardless of whether these preferences are at the same kinder or not.
Furthermore City of Monash will continue to manage the group allocations throughout the year if there are any vacancies or if any vacancies arise during the year.
