What’s Been Happening at Before and After School Care
Since our last newsletter article, the children have been very busy in the Community Garden planting some Cauliflower and Parsley Seedlings. We are hoping that we can make some cauliflower soup in the coming winter months. (Keep an eye out for our recipe when we make it.) For those children participating, it will help them make the connection between experiences, concepts and processes.
To help with reducing waste in the garden, we recycled all the plants we pulled out by feeding them to the chickens.
It's a proven fact that by the children getting their hands in the earth, it helps to calm them and ground them, aiding their focus and concentration.
Children who attend Before and After School Care make bonds, connections and friendships. This can be either with other children they may not necessarily play with at school, in the community or mixing Juniors and Seniors in play.
Vacation Care:
Unfortunately, due the Government announcing school going back so late in the Term, it was not possible for us to organise the Program for these Holidays. We will definitely be back to offering Before School Care, After School Care and the Vacation Care as from Term 3, 2020 (July 13th)
