7 - 9 News

What a term we have had! It is definitely one that will go down in history. I want to first start by thanking the amazing 7-9 teachers and ES staff. The staff went above and beyond to ensure they supported students throughout each and every day, by creating engaging and meaningful lessons, answering emails, setting up extra Google Meets and providing hard copy work for those students that needed it. By no means was Remote Teaching an easy task, but our teachers sure did step up to the challenge – and they did an amazing job.

To our students, I am so proud of the resilience and independence that was shown during Remote Learning. The commitment students demonstrated, to logging in to each class on a daily basis and ensuring work was submitted on time is to be commended. To be able to continue to learn without physically  being at school each day, shows that our students are  adaptable, responsible and independent learners.

And finally to our parent community, thank you for your patience and commitment to supporting your children with Remote Learning. I hope that you were able to see the growth in  your child’s independence and maturity as they worked through this unprecedented time.

It was with great excitement that we welcomed back our students this week. It was such a smooth return back to normality and with only a few short weeks left of Term, I am sure our students will make the most of their time back at school by reconnecting with their peers and their teachers.

At the end of Term 2, our students will receive their reports for Remote Learning - Information about reports can be found on COMPASS.

I also want to thank those students who have applied for our High Achievers Program for 2021.  We are currently in the process of ensuring we have all the relevant information and will begin the second stage of the application process, which is reviewing applications to move to the interview stage.  Information regarding this will be sent out via COMPASS before the end of the Term.

Once again, thank you for all your support to date and I look forward to ending Term 2 on a positive note with happy, connected students.
