In week 7 we welcomed our P-2 students back to school and this week we welcomed our Year 3-9 students back after 8 weeks of Flexible and Remote learning. It was wonderful to see them all returning ready to continue the learning they had embraced whilst working from home.
Our students and staff are to be congratulated on the way they have transitioned back to school. It is important that we acknowledge and thank each and every one of our students, staff and of course our parents for the tremendous work undertaken during the most unusual times in education.
Together we made history!
The introduction of, "Screens off Friday", became a fun way for students to show their creativity and talent. If you missed some of the responses to the challenges set you can find them on our Facebook page and on our web page.
As we move towards the end of term 2 we are ensuring that all students and staff continue to abide by strict hygiene protocols. The Department has provided significant amounts of hand sanitizer and soap. In addition, our playgrounds are being cleaned regularly and high touch areas within the school buildings are being cleaned throughout the day. Students are not required to practice social distancing whilst on site, but staff are encouraging students to stay safe and avoid close contact with each other. In line with Department guidelines we continue to ask parents to avoid entering the school grounds. All requests for appointments with staff can be made by contacting the office.
All school photographs have been distributed. We hope you are pleased with the results. In the last week of term student Semester Reports will be available on Compass. You will notice changes to the format due to the time spent in Remote Learning.
The Department have created many supportive documents for teachers and parents. This is one you may wish to access..

Jenny Atta, Secretary of the Department of Education and Training, has thanked parents and carers of school students across the state for their patience and perseverance with remote learning. She understands the experience has been "difficult, rewarding and challenging" and is hopeful it will provide both parents and teachers with a greater appreciation of the role we all play in educating our young people.
pdfHer letter (252 KB) includes links to helpful information, including talking to your child about Coronavirus to ease any concerns with returning to the classroom. In closing I would like to remind you that Term 2 ends at 2:00 on Friday 26 June. Additional reminders will be issued closer to the end of term.
Again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the incredible work you have undertaken over the past term.
Stay safe.
Yours sincerely,
Mandy O'Mara
