The Library Reading and Borrowing Challenge - due in mid Term 3

We are encouraging students to come in and borrow our resources.  The students’ Reconnect and Reboot, “Say Goodbye my Lockdown,” Challenge is generating a lot of interest. When students come in, their Challenge card can be stamped by staff as they borrow. This week is the time to borrow some holiday books, get your card stamped ahead of the holidays.

New resources for Senior Students

New into our library are the latest editions of the HSC study guides and summary books.  There is a great range of subjects covered.  We encourage our seniors to come in and browse or photocopy these new resources in our Reserve Collection.

World Environment Day – 5 June 2020 In our library we celebrated the global message, “These are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message: To care for ourselves we must care for nature.”

Through our film channel, Click View we have many resources to support our students’ understanding.  One such resource is 2040.  This film is an up to date, engaging and age appropriate introduction to this issue by a young Australian.  If your student has not yet seen 2040, it can be accessed via our library or directly here https://clickv.ie/w/h9on.

Refugee Day – 20 June 2020

Refugee Day in the Library focused on celebrating the importance of welcoming a stranger.   This year we considered the terminology often used in the media to describe a stranger such as migrant, ‘person seeking asylum’ and refugee.

The library staff wish our students and families a happy and safe school holiday period.  We look forward to welcoming our students back in Term 3, 2020.
