FAMILY PARISH MASS

Thank you to all the families who joined us at our family Parish Mass last Sunday. It was a beautiful way to start our Sunday together as a community and to come together to celebrate our faith and for morning tea.

A special thank you to all the families who bought a plate to share for morning tea and to all the students who sang the recessional song.

PROJECT COMPASSION

St Aidan’s will again be supporting the wonderful work of Caritas Australia through Project Compassion. Your generous support can help to change the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Join us this Lent to raise much-needed funds for people living in poverty. Together, we can make a difference now, and For All Future Generations.

For more information on Project Compassion, please see here.

St Aidan’s will be running two fundraising events throughout Lent. Details for these events will be shared with families in the coming weeks:

Purple Mufti Day

Our purple mufti day was a huge success! Our school looked amazing with everyone wearing their fun purple outfits!

Thank you to all the families for the generous gold coin donations. We have now raised over $350 for Project Compassion.

St Aidan’s will be running two more fundraising events throughout Lent:

  • Purple Chocolate and Lolly Guessing Competition

The purple chocolate and lolly guessing competition ran all throughout Week 6. It was great to see so many children involved in this initiative and making guesses to win the delicious loot.

I wonder who will win?

  • Fish Finger Fun Day

All students are invited to order a fish finger lunch order on Wednesday 15 March to raise money for Project Compassion. If you would like your child to have a fish finger lunch order and they have not received a note, please ask their classroom teacher or the school office.

I send a special thank you to all students, parents and families for their kindness, generosity and support with our social justice outreach initiatives.

YEAR 6 STORY TELLING

Year Six has been hard at work in the first few weeks of Term One. We have recently explored the Parable of the Good Samaritan that is found in Luke’s Gospel Chapter 10 Verse 25 - 37. This parable reminds us to show love to everyone even if they are not our friends.

It was wonderful to see the students exploring the message of this important parable with our new storytelling kits.

THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Students in Year 3 as well as a few older students will have their First Reconciliation on Saturday 1 April at 10:00 am. A reminder that all students involved in this sacrament are encouraged to attend Mass each weekend in preparation for this special occasion.

HOLY FAMILY PARISH CONTACT DETAILS

If you are unsure whether or not your child will be making any of these sacraments, please do not hesitate to email myself or the Holy Family priests.

The parish contact details are: holyfamilymaroubra@outlook.com and 9349 1198.
