Child Safe Standards

Child Safe Standard 2: Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
At St Anthony's, we ensure the implementation of Standards, by complying in the following minimum requirements:
- The organisation makes public commitment to child safety
- A child safe culture is championed and modeled at all levels from top down and bottom up
- Governance arrangements facilitate implementation of child safety and wellbeing policy at all levels
- A Code of Conduct provides for staff and volunteers
- Risk management strategies focus on preventing, identifying and mitigating risks to children and young people.
- Staff and volunteers understand their obligations on information sharing and record keeping.
What this means for our school context: The following are some of the ways we ensure we are complying to the standard:
- All staff have current Police Checks
- All volunteers must have a current Working With Children Check
- Code of Conduct is competed for all volunteers
- Volunteers have an induction when attending any excursions acting as volunteers
- All external providers must have current Working With Children Check and professionals must provide evidence of qualifications
- All trades personnel must have a current Working With Children Check and enter into an agreement with the school demonstrating the capabilities of their trade
- All staff, volunteers, external providers, and trades personnel must sign in and out on the school's tracking Passtab system
