ACC Carnival
On Thursday 23 February, a number of students from both Campuses competed at the ACC Carnival, held at Albert Park. St Bede's College finished fourth overall, which was a terrific result given the short run in for the event. Please see below for the full team list who competed that day; please offer them your congratulations.
During the event, Tarkyn O’Leary was announced as our ACC Athletics Captain, alongside Vice Captains Sam McKean and Charlie Clarkson. While we had many outstanding performances, below are the students that won individual events. We had a further 18 performances on the podium for their event.
Sam Gibson (Year 8) - 1st place, 800m
Jack Surkitt (Year 9) - 1st place, 1500m
Oliver Conrad (Year 9) - 1st place, Shot Put and 1st place, Discus
Viktor Romic (Year 11) - 1st place, Triple Jump
Tarkyn O’Leary (Year 12) - 1st place, 1500m
Unfortunately, due to the heat policy, both the Hurdles and 3,000m events for that day were cancelled.
A big thank you to those Staff that assisted with Coaching, and prepared the team for today; Jess Kirk (High Jump), Michael Bohan (Shot Put), Brother Lewis Harwood (Discus), Tom Murphy (Long & Triple Jump), Brayden O’Toole & Con D’Cruz (Sprints), and Steve Laska and Guy Martyn for their overall support.
